What’s New for 2026?

The 2026 CX-5 marks an all-new design for Mazda, inside and out. The front exterior earns a wider, more aggressive stance, with a re-positioned grille and more angular lighting. The rear receives a similar treatment, and “MAZDA” lettering replaces the more conservative Mazda badge. But it’s the dimensions that make the biggest difference. The new CX-5 is 4.5 inches longer overall, and it’s now half an inch wider to boot. As a result, the cargo area is roughly two inches longer, there are larger door openings, and the rear passenger room is enhanced.

Big fan of tech? That gets a sizable upgrade this year, too, led by the new, available 15.6-inch integrated touchscreen display in the cockpit, a 50-percent increase in size over the outgoing model.

Real World Performance

Simply satisfying driving awaits with the 2026 CX-5. Mazda has included a 2.5-liter SkyActiv-G four-cylinder engine that produces a healthy 187 horsepower and 185 lb.-ft of torque, ensuring you never lack power when you need it. Thanks to the standard 6-speed automatic transmission, driving couldn’t be smoother. And for this 2026 model, the powertrain has been uniquely reconfigured to offer both a quieter ride and sharper response time when the situation demands it. In short, you’re getting the best of both worlds.

The 2026 Mazda CX-5 also features i-Activ AWD as standard. This system sends torque to the wheels with the most grip, enhancing performance no matter the terrain or weather.
